An afternoon and evening at Stroud Brewery

By Hamish Gill

A couple of weeks ago I paid a visit to Stroud Brewery. Greg, the chap who owns the place, asked us if we could come along and capture some of the atmosphere of the average Friday afternoon and evening at the brewery.

The wonderful thing about this place is that come Thursday, Friday and Saturday, they open up the bar and little outdoor, undercover seating area. With beer from the brewery and pizza cooked in an onsite purpose built stone oven, it makes for a really quite enjoyable place to spend an evening.

In fact, combining the beer and pizza with photography… Well… I needn’t say any more! Suffice to say, we left with full bellies, and smiles on our faces. Thankfully, we also left with some nice pictures too.

If you’re ever near Stroud, I can definitely recommend it. And if your not near Stroud, then get them to send you a few cans of their Alederflower pale ale – It’s Bloody lovely!

Anyway, here’s the photos – all shot on the Leica M4 and Zeiss 50mm ZM Sonnar, as usual. These first few were taken as they were packing down and cleaning up after a weeks brewing, then setting up for the evening.

Lively post and I never fail to be impressed by the lovely image quality Kodak Portra 400 can produce.
