I live in San Diego and am treated to beautiful sunsets all year long all most as good as Hawaiian sunsets, if that could be possible. On this particular evening, I was surprised by this sunset which turned out to be the picture included. People call it a cotton candy sunset. It was really magnificent to look at and have not seen a sunset like this before, I had to stare at it for a while then I ran back to the house to grab a camera to take the shot. As the sun was going down fast my choice at that instant was my digital Nikon D7000 with an auto focus DX Nikon 18mm to 55mm lens. I did not want to use my phone camera for this shot. The different focal lengths of the Nikon lens gave me more options to just have the sunset itself in the frame. Rather than to have other distractions in the frame which would take away from the cool shot I wanted to have. A wider shot I took had a house roof in the frame. I felt lucky enough to be able to play with the shot to get the one I liked.
The cotton candy sunset was all over the skies of San Diego that evening. I wish I lived closer to the beach as the cotton candy sunset covered the entire Pacific Ocean view from San Diego and the beach cities…
