2025 was not a productive year photographically wise for me. A combination of a very minor but niggly medical issue combined with the rarest of things a great British summer and finally deciding to pick up a PlayStation 5 meant I didn’t go out much.
I’ve not lost my love for photography and enjoyed the times I did venture out, really should have done more macro in the back garden but you know there were bad guys to despatch in Streets of Rage 4.
One things for sure I have not stopped acquiring new gear with a Olympus Trip 35 and a Viltrox 14mm added to the collection, along with the camera and lens that took my picture of the year. That was an infrared converted Olympus EM1 II and the Panasonic 14-150mm. The camera, I saw by chance but it had previously been recommend to me by John Greene who said it had the best ergonomics of any camera he had used and I have to agree it fits the hand like no DSLR or mirrorless camera I have used.
MPB did not know what nanometre filter the camera had fitted but I think it could be a 760nm filter as it has less colour information than a 720nm but not quite the true monochrome you would get from a 850nm filter. The lens while not the sharpest is good enough and whatever Panasonic’s special sauce is with lens design and coatings generally make their lenses very good for infrared photography.
I know graveyards and infrared are a bit of a cliché but I like it, time to get it printed I think.

Great photo you posted. Grave yards are fascinating. Especially if poorly maintained.
