I am a retired college professor. Technical area is geophysics. I learned black and white photography and processing from my dad about 70 years ago. I still have his Agfa 620 folder. My first cameras were box cameras. My first better camera was an Argus 21 (more modern looking than the C3 "brick"). Sadly, it's shutter died about 50 years ago. I have had good luck with cameras and light meters that have no batteries. I have a great collection of now old cameras. Latest is a 1950's Kodak Pony 135 that appears to be brand new. I discovered that cheap reading glasses from a dollar store make pretty good "close up" adapters. I have enjoying experimenting with pinhole cameras too. An acupuncture needle makes a nice 0.2 mm diameter pinhole in soda pop can metal! (Manual dexterity required!)
