I'm a PhD student studying nuclear physics at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada. Photography has been part of my life since high school (in the 90s before digital was really much of anything). The darkroom was what I remember the most from my highschool photography course, and I have always wanted to return to using one. I realized nearly two years ago that the university has a darkroom club and the rest is history. I most enjoy taking unintentionally blurry photos of my constantly-moving preschooler.

EOS-1 TS-E 24

36 Frames / Whole Roll Tilting & Shifting with a Canon 24mm TS-E – #FullRollFriday – By Kevin Ortner

I started writing this in the past tense before even deciding which film to use, in fact, I had not even put this lens on the camera before. The camera in question being the Canon EOS-1 — the first in its well known lineup — and this lens being the Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5 which I had only played with indoors  a few times to try to understand the tilting/swinging of the focal plane.

Konica Auto S2 and FP4 plus

5 Frames with Konica Auto S2 and Ilford FP4+ – By Kevin Ortner

Some people drive home from work, park there car somewhere on the street, go inside, do whatever they do, sleep, wake up, eat, and get in their car knowing it will turn on and get them to work again and again… Those people drive a Konica Auto S2. It’s a camera that will never be cool with the kids, never classic enough for the collector, but it will get you from point A to B.
