A Peak in a Colorless Sky – My photo of the year 2026

By Gary Smith

In August I set out on a drive around Oregon with the Contax G1 loaded with color film. I decided that this shot worked best for me in black and white due to the way the clouds were blowing over the peak in what was a colorless sky. I subsequently had this printed on canvas and it’s the only shot of mine that is hanging on my wall.

Shot with the CZ 28/2.8 Biogon and lab developed. I may have added some grain in post with Nik Silver Efex (I just don’t remember).
