7Artisans 28mm f/1.4

5 Frames with a 7Artisans 28mm f/1.4 – By John Scott

7Artisans. I love what they are creating with their lenses. Tiny but high quality lenses that are fast and high quality – compared to some modern day plastic fantastic lenses at least. I first discovered 7Artisans lenses when I was searching for the Leica Noctilux 50mm f/0.95 lens. I soon realised that this lens was going to cost me an arm, leg, lung and possibly my house to buy, so I was on the hunt to find alternative glass. That’s when I chanced upon the 50mm f/1.1. After shooting with the 50mm for over a year, I have since become a convert to the 7Artisans clan of lenses.

7Artisans 50mm f/1.1 & 28mm f/1.4 Reiview – Alternatives or Imposters? – By Jeremy Rata

I am a published documentary photographer. (www.jeremyrata.com) and have a lifestyle and product photographic business (www.hospitalityphotographic.com). For my business I use Nikon, for my documentary work I have been using Leica for over 12 years starting off with an MP transcending to all their digital offerings up to my current camera the M10. I love them. The lenses I currently use are Leica’s 18mm Super Elmar, 28mm Summicron, and the 35mm & 50mm Summiluxes.

7Artisans 28mm f/1.4 late-prototype early impressions preview

But to my knowledge I’m at least one of the first to get my hands on one… so I thought I’d share some very early thoughts and a few sample images.
