Abstract Graffiti – My Photograph of the Year 2025

By Ed

This photo was taken as part of a Sunday afternoon walk to town. I was testing a newly acquired Pentax Auto 110 and the image was taken with the tiny 18mm wide angle lens. This is a photo of nothing in particular but each time I look at it I am drawn to find further details. The U, the All, the command to Hydrate. The abstract painting within the image. The vertical tag. The steel railings. The ill-defined foliage. The grain from the negative and the lens’ barrel distortion. The circles and the rectangles. There is nothing in this image that defines it as a high quality photograph but it is one of the pictures I have taken this year that intrigues me.
