5 Frames with a Contax ST and Fujichrome Provia 100 at The Jurassic Coast

I really like the Jurassic Coast which is part of the South Western Coast of England. It is a 95-mile stretch of shoreline in southern England, spanning the counties of Dorset and Devon – from Bournemouth west to Lyme Regis.

Apparently it’s It is the only place in the World where rocks from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous Periods can be seen in one place, representing 185 million years of The Earth’s history and it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It’s also the only place I’ve frequently visited in Britain where the sea is warm in Summer and where there are some fine beaches.

The towns of Poole and Bournemouth are well worth a visit, with Poole being quite a bit nicer. My favourite part is The isle of Purbeck where we, long ago, went on a school trip to Swanage. If work wasn’t so far away I’d move here!

Anyway it’s also a Photographic paradise. You can trek Westwards (it’ll take you a long while so better by car) and enjoy every step with gorgeous countryside and beautiful coastal scenery dotted with pretty villages, beaches, coves, Pubs, lighthouses (such as  such Portland Bill).

I took these Photographs about 17 years ago with a Contax ST I used to have, digging in the vaults for stuff to scan using my new (old) scanner I found a box of slides, hitherto unscanned and here are 5 Frames from the 36.

I’ve no idea what lens I used, but I remember I had a Zeiss Tele Tessar and a couple of Yashica ML’s, all it says on the box is Contax ST Provia Dorset ’08.

I must’ve used a tripod as there were lots of photos of me and two mates and other scenic coastal shots which were self timed and long exposures.

Anyway, I like them, they bring back fond memories – I’ve got to ask my mate Ben if he’s up for a jaunt there one day, he now lives in Cornwall so I wont hold my breath..
