Intrepid has today announced a new limited-run 4×5 ‘Black Edition’ camera. This all-black camera is a first for Intrepid, as not only is it thier first limited production run model, it’s also the first they have made with 3D printing being the primary manufacturing process.
A couple of little bits of news today from the opposite ends of the world of photography. The first is a new product from Marko Pirc; the chap who brought us the Lumu light meter. Marko has been in touch with me this morning to tell me about his new product, the LIT mobile flash which has just launched on Kickstarter here.
This little beauty has been on my radar for a little while now, but as of yesterday it’s now live on Kickstarter. I managed to speak to Max from Intrepid this afternoon, but I’ve been trying to catch up with him about it for a while. What with launching a Kickstarter campaign, he has been a bit busy… a feeling I am now acutely aware of… The main reason I wanted to talk to him was actually about the potential compatibility with pixl-latr, but I shall get to that in a mo.
This week has been chaos for me – having launched my pixl-latr Kickstarter with some significant (almost scary) success on Monday, I have since been taken aback by the amount of support I have received – both from potential consumers of pixl-latr within the community, and brand names within the industry too. I am working on updating the list of articles that have been written in the post about it’s launch here, but that list doesn’t take into account the support I’ve had on social media, which has been phenomenal, to say the least!
