A Couple of New Features for 35mmc

By Hamish Gill

Just a couple of little features, mostly for contributors really.

First, if you are a contributor, you can now add various contact details to your profile.

In the backend of the website it looks like this:

Put the details in the boxes, then switch the “show on author page” and you will end up with an author page that looks like this:

Also, we now have “Contributor Only” posts – these are for sharing ideas with other contributors and can’t be seen by anyone else.

If you want to publish a contributor only post, add “contributor only” to the title and I will set the appropriate settings when I publish it. These post do NOT get sent out via the email subscription system, and will only show in the feed on the homepage to contributors when they are logged in.

The idea of these posts is not to hide normal content from readers, it is to ask questions or propose ideas to other contributors. For eg, sometimes I get asked to review products that don’t interest me, so I might ask here if there is a contributor who wants to do the review.

Hopefully this all makes sense – let me know any questions

Could a few of you contributors also comment on the post that you should only be able to see… and if you can see it and aren’t a contributor, please let me know too!

Thanks,

About The Author

By Hamish Gill
I started taking photos at the age of 9. Since then I've taken photos for a hobby, sold cameras for a living, and for a little more than decade I've been a professional photographer and, of course, weekly contributor to 35mmc.

Hi Hamish - I went to another browser where I wasn't logged in and I could see this post. Perhaps the alternative browser knows I'm a contributor but I don't think I've ever accessed 35mmc on it. Just letting you know. Ed
