Analogue Wonderland Launches the PURE35 Reloadable 35mm Film Camera as a UK exclusive with Kodak Moments

By Hamish Gill

My mates at Analogue Wonderland have just announced a reloadable 35mm film camera, the PURE35. I haven’t tried the camera myself yet, but reading the press info, the gist is that it’s a very simple, some might say “pure” point and shoot film camera.

The word “reloadable” in the description refers to the fact that it’s not disposable, i.e. it can be used more than once. As I expect most here know, reloadable as an antonym to disposable in this context means that this camera is essentially a slightly better made disposable camera that can be reloaded instead of thrown away. In the world we live in today, this feels like it’s probably a good thing – disposable cameras are increasingly feeling a little anachronistic, so it’s no surprise to me that we are increasingly seeing cameras like this.

Reloadable or otherwise, it’s hard to argue with the attractiveness of the feature set a camera like this offers. It has a 31mm f/9, single element focus free lens with a 1/120th of a second shutter speed and a on/off flash. It focuses from around 1m to infinity. These sorts of features just allow super-basic shooting that’s very attractive to beginners and those looking for that occasional thought-free shooting experience.

The PURE35 is being brought to market in collaboration with Kodak Moments. It comes in a choice of a 3 colours, and can come bundled via purchase through the AW website with a choice of a couple of rolls of film. The bundles offer a pretty decent saving on the film too!
