Some of you might remember ages ago we published an article about usedlens.co.uk – Daniel Cook, the website’s creator has been in touch today to let me know about a new feature. To be honest, I don’t usually write these sorts of posts myself – but I use his website so much, that I felt almost obliged to give the guy a bit of support!
If you haven’t heard of the website, it is well worth checking out. If your looking for a bit of camera equipment in the UK, it’s essentially the first website you should go to, even before ebay. The basic job of the website is to aggregate all the listings for camera equipment that are for sale across most UK retailers (and ebay) into one place. So if you happen to be looking for a Nikon 85mm 1.4 AF-D for e.g. it will show you all the listings with a load of other useful details to help you compare options etc. Alongside this basic function, there’s loads of other useful tools too – just have a look at the website, you’ll see, it’s brilliant! Not a week goes by that I don’t find myself on there!
What has been interesting to see added to the site more recently though is all the info around stats. You have been able see pricing/value trends etc for a little while, but the feature Daniel has just launched is his new Market Report, which you can find here. This is, I admit, some pretty geeky stuff, but alongside the buyer’s guide info it really does provide some interesting insights into the used camera and lens marketplace in the UK. I just warn you, it can send you down a rabbit hole of info – it really is a very well laid out and interesting website to explore!
