NEWS: The Lomo School Opens in Celebration of Film Photography Day!

By Molly Kate

The Lomo School is now in session! Lomography has launched a new section of its website dedicated to learning about analogue photography in celebration of Film Photography Day. Grab your notebook and number 2 pencil because you don’t want to miss a moment of this new educational adventure.

Before this 2023 addition, Lomography’s website has provided a wealth of resources for film photographers including their shop, prolific magazine, free competitions, a photo pool for practically every camera and film in existence, an events section, and a community social site. Now they have added The Lomo School section, but you won’t be itching for lunchtime in this classroom!

The Lomo School site provides digestible answers for everything you could want or need to know about analogue photography. Covering all levels starting with the basics up to advanced experimental techniques, the curriculum is delivered in simple, clear guides for easy understanding.

Lomography’s community stretches far and wide with roots that run just as deep and the company has drawn on their engaged members to sort through the most frequently asked questions and answer them all in one place. It’s a space for learning intended to be open and accessible to all with the goal of not complicating the delivery of information.

This new section of our website is aimed at anyone and everyone with a passion for analogue. Whether they’re someone who’s never touched a film camera before, someone who likes the look of Lomography but has no idea where to start, or an experienced film photographer looking to get more creative – everyone is welcome at the Lomography School. – Lomography

Formatted for learners to find answers with ease, the main page of The Lomo School site includes a featured topic followed by a section for selecting guides on different categories, a search bar, and guides sorted by popularity. An index of topics can be found at the bottom of the page as well.

If there is something you want to know, but cannot find the answer to it on the site, Lomography has opened the mailbox, [email protected], to accept any questions which will then be added in to the materials. Lomography says they want the space to be one that continuously expands and improves so if you have tricks or tips to share, please send those to the same email as well.
