[CANCELLED] Analogue Spotlight Plan B – Meet-ups this Weekend [CANCELLED]

CANCELLED

Due to common sense, these events are cancelled

You may have heard the news, The Photography Show has been postponed until September. Very disappointing, but we have a bit of a ‘plan B’ – two plan Bs in fact.

This evening, a whole load of us who had stands at The Photography Show have spent the last hour or so chatting on the phone to come up with a couple of alternative events. A lot of people have put a lot of time and effort into this weekend, and we know a lot of you will have already bought plane/train/bus tickets, so we wanted to give you all a couple of alternative events.

The plans are as follows:

Saturday: Birmingham Photowalk

Meet at 11am by the bull statue

Birmingham is a huge city with loads to see and photograph! On Saturday at 11am we are planning to meet by the large statue of the bull. If you don’t know where that is, it’s easy enough to find – it’s just up from Waterstones on the High Street. In all honesty, we don’t have much of a plan beyond that, but will likely take a walk around the city looking for interesting things to take photos of then find a pub or somewhere to get some food. If you would like to come on Saturday, you can let us know via this Facebook event

Sunday: Analogue Spotlight at The Kiln

Meet at 11am at The Kiln in Worcester

The plan for Sunday is to meet in Worcester at The Kiln Coworking space at 11am. We haven’t managed to speak to everyone who had an analogue stand at the show yet, but this evening I have had a conference call that included Analogue Wonderland, CameraRescueChroma CameraIntrepidKosmo Foto and me (Pixl-latr) all of whom are going to get together with our various products to show off. Silverpan Film Lab and Solarcan are also contemplating plans to join us. Some of the guys who were doing talks on the various stands including John Whitmore are going to be there, Simon Forster from Classic Lenses Podcast, and of course the team from Sunny 16 Podcast who will be doing their live recording still. There will be more too, we anticipate, we just haven’t managed to get hold of everyone yet.

In short, a bit of a mini Analogue Spotlight event! If you would like to come on Sunday, you can let us know via this Facebook event

Hopefully this is a bit of a conciliation for those who have already made travel plans – we hope you can make it!

A quick note on Corona Virus

Whilst the Photography Show has been postponed, as we understand it a larger part of this decision is for reasons based on the huge scale of the event. By organising these small events, we are compliant with current advice.

It might be worth adding a 'no handshake' rule as well. By the way, if anyone is interested in a meet up in Cambridge or Norwich sometime I'm interested. Perhaps we should have a national photowalk day.

That photograph shows quite the crowd gathered around the table. I see whiskey, fries (chips) and film canisters. Wow, healthy diet. If you had invited me, I could have brought hushpuppies, fried dill pickles, and corn mash moonshine.
